Dating

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I wanted to devote this weeks wedding guide to dating!

Valentine’s is definitely one of those marmite events, but love it or loath it, dating is definitely a really important thing to still do while you plan your wedding.

We got married in the middle of March and by Valentine’s Day we still had a million things to do before the wedding. It didn’t really feel like a priority but It would also be our last one before the big day.

In the end, we compromised had a meal at home from m&s and agreed to have a ‘last date’ at a time that suited us.

For our last date we had dinner in the same restaurant where we had our first date. It was really lovely and unlike Valentine’s Day, it was just about us, and absolutely nothing was heart shaped! it was a really nice way to celebrate the journey our relationship had taken and the start of our next chapter.

In the final weeks and months before you walk down the isle it can be really hard to find the time for just being a couple. Every spare moment gets consumed by cake tasting or looking at chair sashes! It can be so hard to put it all to one side and just spend some quality time together.

Dating when you’re planning a wedding doesn’t need to be another thing on the to do list, in fact, it’s probably better if it’s something really relaxing and minimal effort. it can just be having picnic or a trip to the cinema. If you have children then the amount of time you can spend as just the two of you can be even more precious but it’s just as important to spend time together, even if it’s just a quiet evening on the sofa with a bottle of wine.

As for your to do list, I am always on hand to go cake tasting if it helps!
